About Me

I started my health and wellness career as a personal trainer and yoga instructor, and working with seniors who had limited mobility.  That led me to massage therapy and in 2003 I attended Southeastern School of Neuromuscular Therapy.  Since graduating at the top of my class and earning my massage therapist license in both Florida and North Carolina, I have pursued training with a “forever student” attitude and heart.

I am motivated to learn and work serving a wide variety of conditions, including post surgery work and addressing scar tissue, working with cerebral palsy, Parkinson's Disease, mastectomy and reconstruction issues, depression and anxiety, headaches, TMJ issues, jaw pain, and scoliosis.  Through my work involving Myofacial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, and Visceral Manipulation, many of my clients have found  pain reduction, improved motor function, and a greater mind body connection.

I have a passion for helping people in their pursuit of being happy and healthy in their own skin, and look forward to serving you.

What Can I Expect in a Session?

Every session will begin with a brief chat to determine where you are in the moment and how we can best serve you in that space. This looks different for each individual, and varies on any given day.

A visual postural analysis and evaluation of freedom of movement is part of that conversation.
Once we get started, your body will determine what modalities take precedence for the day.  Craniosacral therapy will be wound into every session for the profound affect it has on the Central Nervous System.  By pushing the pause button on "fight or flight" and introducing a deep state of relaxation we will create an internal space where all of the other work we do will have longer lasting effects.  We will follow the patterns of fascia(connective tissue) as they lead us to areas of tension, stagnation or immobility.  By systematically moving through as your body guides us we are engaging in a practice of asking as opposed to telling. Fascia requires patience and will not change with brute force.  Working with any scar tissue adhesions and addressing how they impact the surrounding structures is a common twist(pun intended).  Visceral manipulation addresses any perceived lack of mobility and/or motility in the organs.
